Basmati Rice – Microwaved Version

You only save about 5 minutes time here but this rice is actually better than rice made on either the stove top or in a rice cooker. This recipe is from and old cookbook I can’t locate at the moment, but that book has other great tips like this that work incredibly well, so I continue to look.

Makes: 6 servings
Prep Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 28 minutes

2 cups white basmati rice
3 cups water
2 teaspoons kosher salt

1. Boil Rice: Transfer rice, water, and salt to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high power for 15 minutes or until steam holes appear in the surface of the rice.

2. Cover Rice: Cover rice and continue to cook for 5 minutes.

3. Rest Rice: Let rice set for 5 minutes.

4. Serve & Enjoy: Fluff rice with a fork. Enjoy.
