2 1/2-3 pound pork sirloin roast, trimmed
2 (12 ounce) bottles root beer (use a high quality root beer, DO NOT USE DIET)
juice from 1 orange
1. Cook Roast: Place roast into slow cooker. Pour root beer over pork to cover. Add juice. Cover with lid and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 5-7 hours.
2. Shred Meat: Remove pork from liquid and let rest 10 minutes. Serve in your favorite recipe, such as *barbequed pulled pork sandwiches or **carnitas. Enjoy!
*For Pork Carnitas: Shred pork with 2 forks. Heat 2 Tablespoons oil in a skillet until just smoking. Add shredded pork to skillet and cook, undisturbed, 3 minutes. Toss pork and continue to cook 3 more minutes, until browned and crispy in places. Serve with warm corn tortillas and your favorite toppings, such as pickled onions, salsa, shredded cheese, etc. Enjoy!
**For Pulled Pork Barbeque Sandwiches: Shred pork with 2 forks. Toss pork with 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the prepared sauce. Serve and enjoy!
