This simple strawberry sauce is the true taste of summer freshness. Sweet with the richness of strawberries, pour this over your favorite gluten free cake, cheesecake, ice cream, pancakes, you name it! Or eat it with a spoon…nothin’ wrong with that!
1 pound strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced into 1/4 inch thick pieces
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon amaretto
1. Cook Berries: In a small saucepan, bring berries, sugar and water to a boil. Reduce to medium simmer and cook, stirring occasionally until berries soften and break down, 6-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.
2. Strain Sauce: Press berries through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and solids.
3. Finish & Serve: Add lemon juice and amaretto and stir. Enjoy!
