Cole slaw like my family makes

Serves: 8

Total Time: 14 minutes

1 head green cabbage, quartered and shredded fine
3-4 carrots, peeled and trimmed, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
2 teaspoons celery seeds

1. Prep Slaw: In a large bowl, toss cabbage and carrots together to combine.

2. Make Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Finish & Serve: Pour dressing over cabbage and toss to coat. Sprinkle celery seeds over slaw and serve. Enjoy!

Variation 1 (Aunt Susie’s Version)

Add 1 Tablespoon pickle relish with the cabbage and carrots and toss to combine. Continue with recipe.

Variation 2 (Aunt Anne’s Version)

Add 1 small red bell pepper and/or green bell pepper, finely chopped or thinly sliced to cabbage and carrots and toss to combine. Continue with recipe.
